Skiing – Photos

For the Easter holiday 2001, Mark Harris organised a skiing holiday, on which ten of us went. I had never been skiing before, so I was a little nervous...

Henry wearing shades, looking cool Henry and Cath looking very cool on the Stansted Express Cath wearing shades, also looking decidedly cool
Ollie, Martin and Alex D-J sitting on the trainOthers, not looking as cool
Our plane flight was very exciting I get bored easily on planes... other people fall asleep. Not even the camera can wake them up
Mark filming the baggage carousel – why, Mark? Mark decides to film our baggage carousel for some reason
We appear to be late catching our connecting bus Either our bus for the last leg of the journey (well I call it a bus, but it was more a large minivan taxi taking us on a terror journey through hell doing 180° spins over perilous cliffs...) was about to leave, or somebody had just opened a box of chocolate biscuits. I think it was the latter.
Could it be, even in France, we cannot escape the catalogue posing? Of course we can't. :-) Say – what’s that we spy?
A picture of the room I stayed in, along with my flatmates – Lucinda, Simon, Amy and Mark The people who stayed with me in one of the rooms – Lucinda, Simon, Amy and Mark. I got the pull out bed on the floor. Henry, Cath, Martin, Ollie and Alex took the other room upstairs.
A picture of the part of Val Thorens near where we were staying. We had two rooms within an apartment block (called Le Nêves) that were floors apart (Mark’s canny cheap deals coming to the fore again ;) ), quite nice but nothing special. A picture of Val Thorens from around where we were staying

Some sort of panoramic thing that didn't work too well:

Panoramic leftmost shot, villas and mountainsPanoramic centre-left shot, villas and mountainsPanoramic centre-right shot, restaurant and mountainsPanoramic rightmost shot, restaurant and mountains

But a nice person sent me the output of their panorama creation software:

Nice version of the panorama

Sat in a restaurant on our first day:

Me going all arty-farty with the camera Arty-farty again, though this time it was to get the mountain in A pretty standard picture of Mark and Alex, Simon looking off to the left, and a big mountain in the background
