Placeopedia connects geographic Wikipedia articles with their locations.
The entry mechanism is very simple – the user simply enters the
name of the article (with helpful auto-complete), clicks the location
on the map, and hits Submit. All previous entries can be viewed by
moving the map, or in Google Earth
in real time.
A mySociety volunteer created the initial version of the site, and then I got involved to smooth the interface, polish the edges and so on.
