Past Concerts

The Oxford Student Chorus have performed in many concerts, more recently as the OSC, but previously under the name of The Oxford University Chorus.

Michaelmas 2003
Saturday 29th Nov (7th week), at 7.45pm, in Exeter chapel. Do come along! We will be singing a Vierne mass, "Messe Somnelle", and "There Shall a Star" by Mendelssohn, plus various Christmas things.
Trinity 2003
(Friday of 4th week). We'll be singing Rossini's "Petite Messe Solenelle", a superb piece for a chorus and four soloists, accompanied by the piano and harmonium. We will be holding the concert in Exeter Chapel. It should be a lovely evening, so even if you're not singing, keep your eyes open for the concert, and come along!
Michaelmas 2002
A Winter Warmer : A concert of music to "guide you through autumn, coax you into winter and instill festive cheer!" It included a mix of folk songs, traditional carols and more original arrangements. The concert was a great success, with the audience participation carols raising the roof!
Trinity 2002
A Summer Fling! : For a light hearted end to the year we held an a cappella concert of traditional songs and madrigals, including "The Frog and the Crow" and "Scarborough Fair". These were interspersed with poetry reading and ensemble singing, and the chorus' part was captured on CD.
Hilary 2002
Confitebor : Never before performed in Oxford, Samuel Wesley's Confitebor is a stunning piece. Performed alongside Benjamin Britten's Choral Dances from Gloriana, this proved to be a great concert. Confitebor performance note.
Michaelmas 2001
The Resurrection : Mahler's second symphony was performed alongside the Oxford University Orchestra, at the majestic Sheldonian.
In addition to The Resurrection, we held a successful performance of Fauré's Requiem and Verdi's Stabat Mater, again in the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, on Thursday of 8th week (the 29th of November).

The use of St Mary's was by kind permission of the Vicar and PCC.
